Snap back to reality

Back in Norway after my ah-mazing vacation in Spain.

I definitely was’t ready to leave, because now I’m back to reality where I have to semester projects to finish by next friday, and exams after that.

But none of that will put a damper on my memories. We had a few drunken nights playing secret asian man, paying 1,5 € for a beer and 2 € for tequila shots, trespassing on golf courses and of course laughing at the stupid things people say when they are a little passed tipsy:

“South africa? Are you sure of that? I thought she was from a specific country.”

“Im an excellent breeder assistent…. Even ask your aunt debbie!”

“It was like pure wissshhkey.”

“Glow dance? What the hell does that have to do with a sobriety test?”

We also had ice cream everyday, went shopping, found swapmeets and hung out at the beach. All in all, it was very relaxing.

I will definitely miss the sunshine and being able to wear shorts and t-shirts with no jacket.

I’m Stylin’!

Would of thought that in my time of absence I would be crowmed with not just one, but two stylish awards!

I’ll say it was a pleasure to receive both of them. One was from Nikki at WomenAreFromMars And the other was from BeneathTheSpinLight.

As a receiver of the Stylish Blogger Award, I have to do the following:

  • Present seven facts about myself.
  • Name half dozen bloggers I think deserve the award. Contact those people.
  • Create a link back to the person who gave you the honor.

10 7 Things to Hate Know About Me:

I adore the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, but How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days is my favorite (10 seems to be a special number)

I have 5 and a half nieces/nephews (one is still in the tummy)

Although I love a good party, most days I would rather stay home with a good book.

If I didn’t have my iPod I’m pretty sure I would be in an insane asylum

One of my life mottos is ‘Its only funny until someone gets hurt. Then, its hilarious’

For Lent this year, I’m giving up my one true love, candy (not the eye candy though)

My dream is to one day move to Glascow in Scotland.

When I’m drunk I tell everyone I meet to shut their eyes and ‘just feel life’

Man’s Best Friend

I want a dog so bad!
They are so adorable, fun and companionable.

Yesterday I spent my day dogsitting the cutest little cairn terrier puppy, and it made me really wish I was in the position to have a dog.

My dream dog is a german shepard and husky mix. They are so beautiful.

But with the way my life is, I would have no time for one.

I look forward to the day that I have enough time to be able to take are of a dog the way it needs.

Here is Thia. The cutest terrier ever!

And on another note. My sister just passed her first trimester so I am finally allowed to say: I’M GOING TO BE AN AUNT. This is gonna be niece/nephew number 6, but I guess when you have three older sisters that’s not so many. Hehe.
I totally can’t wait!

It Keeps Gettin’ Better

I am amazingly blessed.

I have THE best parents ever!

Today I found out that instead of going home for easter break this April, I will be flying home and then next day leaving for Alicante, Spain for a week!

I have never been to the south of Europe before, so I am extremely excited.

And this wouldn’t be happening if it was for my wonderful parents who are shelling out the dough for this trip for themselves, my sister, her boyfriend and I.

Now I really can’t wait for March to be over.

Have a very merry christmas!

Today is my 21st birthday! Yay for me! Too bad in Norway 21 isn’t such a big thing. Here its 18 and 20 that are a big deal.
Anyways, Christmas has been amazing! We have had lots of laughs, good food and fun times. I even got my own iPad! Yay! So that’s once again where i’m blogging from. I swear this thinghas apps for everything. For worpress, facebook, vlc, new york times. Its pretty awesome. My dad was even so awesome as to go all out and get 3G which I have internet everywhere I go. Man I have best parents/family ever!
Now I’m looking forward to new years. First I guess I have to come up with a resolution. Any ideas? I have no idea.

Hope everyone has had an amazing holiday season!

Totally technological!

So, right now I am totally blogging from an iPad. I kinda feeling unfaithful to my lovely laptop that has lasted me through many years, spilt milk and tumbles off my bed/couch/table, but I think that this is ridiculously awesome. Then again I have always had this ongoing flirtation with anything that is ‘futuristic’. If something new comes out I HAVE to have it, and when the next new thing comes out I dump the old thing like yesterdays news. I only wish this was my iPad to keep, but alas! It is my mom’s. Totally going on my ‘things to buy really soon’ list.

On a different note. Being home for christmas break is amazing. I barely stop laughing because of the things my parents say and do. I forgot how funny they can be without even trying. I could totally write a book like that Justin dude called Shit My Parents Say, because trust me, it ain’t just my dad.

Anyways, time to do some research to see what iPad I might want and how hard it going to effect my bank account. I’m actually aldrær cringing at the thought of it.

You are special. Oh, so special.

Phone convo with my dad earlier today:

{fluff talk about school, the weather, yadayadayada}

Dad: Ok, so why are you bugging us on a saturday?
Me: I have a question.
Dad: Alright. I have an answer. It might be wrong, or it might be right, but it’s an answer either way.
Me: Ok, what-
Dad: Wait! I need my theme song. *sings* ‘are you smarter than a 5th grader’
Me: Oh wow. You’re special.
Dad: I got two questions right this morning, you know!
Me: Dad, focus!
Dad: Well, what’s the question?
Me: What does preempt mean?
Dad: Oh, I know. Uh…. Uh…. Why not look it up on your computer?
Me: I don’t take my computer with me to school to study.
Dad: Ok. Weeellll, I’ve got a computer.
Me: Go to dictionary.com
Dad: Duh- ic-ti-on-ar-y-dot-c-o-m. What the hell!? Sass, I think it has gone crazy on my. Let me try again. Duh-ic-ti-on-ar-y-dot-c-o-m. Ok, now I got it….

Never a dull conversation with my dad that’s for sure.

Snail mail

P121010_14.30Snail mail is not used enough these days. Usually the only things people get in the mail are bills, adds or magazines.

Its kind of sad really because I know that I love the feeling of getting mail. Today I got a package from my mom. It had lots of stuff I love in it. Gum, fruit gushers, fruit by the foot, Toblerone, chicken noodle soup, tomato soup, noodles and my favorite Ed Hardy perfume. It doesn’t sound like some amazing thing, but I really appreciated it.

Every time I get a letter or a package with out expecting it, I fell like its christmas and it automatically makes my day a little bit better. Today was no exception. Thanks mom!

Moral of this post: Send more snail mail.

Some people make the world special just by being in it.

These people make my world special every day since I’ve met them.

I love them all dearly (all for different reasons), and I’m happy to say they are in my life.

If you don’t know these people, be jealous. Very jealous. These are people that mean something.

 The daddy:
I’m a complete and total daddy’s girl. He’s the best man I know. Even when me makes me mad he can make smile, and that takes  a lot. I love him more than anything, even with his disastrous style. Hehe.

The  mommy
:
I’m a total mommy’s girl too. She’s strict, stubborn and it’s her way or the highway, but I love her for it. She doesn’t like my lip ring or that I dye my hair, but she accepts me as I am and loves me more than life. Can’t argue with that. I love her more than words.

The sister:
Our fights are almost always World War III, but underneath it all we really love each other. She’s my teacher, my shrink, my personal press agent and my defense attorney. She’s an awesome sister.
No we are not twins. Not even close.

The niece and nephews:
The cutest kids in the universe. They are hyper and crazy and love attention. I love getting the phone call when they ask me to come visit, and the when I get there the first thing they say is “Hi, do you remember who I am?” hehe. Like I could forget them.

My skank-betch:
The best of the best of friends. She’s a bitch and she knows it. I love that about her. She tells you how it is, not how you want it to be. I’ve known her since I was a little kid and there’s never a dull moment when we are together. By far the best friend anyone could have ever!

My double:
We are essentially the same person, or as close to that as possible. We think the same, react the same, talk the same, love the same things. She tells me when I’m being a bitch, and I can tell her too. Not ocean could keep us apart as long as we have AIM to text on. I love her more than I love pink!

 My piratehooker:
My hyperactive, spastic bestie. No matter if we are pulling all-nighters, drinking Monster like its going out of style, stealing ice cream from her sister, sneaking out or tp-ing people’s house, we are always having a blast. I swear over the years I have lost like 50 lbs just laughing with this girl. I love her dearly.

My opposite
:
We are polar opposites, but that’s why we work. She’s shy, nice and conservative. I’m outgoing, kind of a bitch and will tell you what I think. We love each other anyways no matter what.

The roomies:
Living in Bergen wouldn’t be the same without these girls. They’ve seen me at my best and worst, and love me anyways. Couldn’t ask for better roomies!

Gran:
My favorite person ever, my grandma. I miss her everyday, but we had a good run together. She was always on my side and made me feel special. I can’t put into words the impact she made on my life, but I hope that one day I can be even half the grandma that she was for me.
