I remember eating grapefruit as a kid, and dumping huge amounts of sugar on it to get the perfect sweet/sour combination. I still really like grapefruit all these years later, but I would rather not have to smother the poor thing in sugar just to get it to my liking.
I found a simple little recipe online that solve my problem, and gives a new little twist. All you need for this recipe is:
First preheat the oven to 175C. Then start by cutting the grapefruit in half, and drizzling each half with honey. I made sure to cover the entire grapefruit, and then added a little extra for taste.
When the over is heated, just bake the honey glazed grapefruit for about 10 min. If you want the top to be a little bit crispy, use the fan setting on the oven for the last 3 minutes or so.
When the honey is bubbling, and edges of the grapefruit are golden, then its finished!
Its a super easy recipe for a quick snack or breakfast, and as a bonus, it is scrumptious!
In retrospect, you might want to make sure that you have a grapefruit spoon or else it becomes a little difficult to eat. Or you can make grapefruit wedges instead for a finger food version.
Queen of the Fucking Universe is baaaack!
That’s right. After a couple months sabbatical, I have finally found the time to reconnect with all my little blogging friends (Don’t take the adjective the wrong way. Our friendships are big, no worries).
I guess the first thing I should blog about is something that has been taking up a great deal of my time: POP Pilates
! I’ve spent a lot of time the past couples of weeks focusing on my health. That means working out, eating healthy and treating my body right. Cassey Ho, the creator of blogilates, has really helped get me motivated with her website, and by seeing all the fun she has by keeping healthy!
I totally recommend taking a peek at her website, and if you like what you see, then follow!
Trust me, the feeling of waking up in the morning with slightly sore muscles telling you you have worked them well is the best feeling ever!
So today I went to my first yoga class ever. Yes, we did all these poses that have a bunch of weird names.
- downward facing dog: now I don’t know about any of you, but I’ve never seen a dog doing that.
- corpse pose: we basically just laid there. I did kind of feel like I was dead.
- child’s pose: now this one I understand. I totally used to sleep like that as a kid.
- cat-cow: I kind of felt like Beyoncé when we did this one. “Drop to ya knees, hunch back girl. Shake, shake it like that alley cat.”
We also did some poses that didn’t have funny names, so no sense in mentioning them. All in all it was pretty cool, I think. It was harder than I thought it was, meaning I used more muscle than I thought I would. But it was relaxing at the same time. Definitely going to become a weekly thing, and at the end of it I will be able to do this.. My goal is to be able to do this:
